Market: Hacken win
Odds: 19/20 @
Getting their Europa League qualifying campaign underway on Thursday evening, Aberdeen will travel out to Sweden when they meet Hacken.
Starting with the hosts, while Hacken might still face an uphill battle to retain their domestic crown this season, the Swedish giants are in the midst of a stellar purple patch. Tipped as a standout contender to spring what would be a qualifying upset this month, the Wasps certainly find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Keeping up their recent charge over the weekend and picking up some perfect momentum as they landed an action-packed 3-2 victory against Sirius, Per-Mathias Hogmo’s men have gained a string of plaudits from across the continent. Extending on their Europa League qualifying adventure on August 17th as they claimed a remarkable 8-1 aggregate romp against Lithuanian outfit Zalgiris, Hacken have quickly gained a reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third. In fact, Thursday’s hosts have won each of their last four appearances across all formats by an aggregate score of 13-3.
As for the visitors, although Aberdeen might have claimed a much-welcomed League Cup boost over the weekend as they claimed a 2-1 victory away at Stirling, Barry Robson’s men have struggled to find much stability since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Picking up just a single point from their opening two Premiership outings, the Dons will be desperate to kickstart their season here. However, knowing that they will face a tough first-leg challenge when they travel out to Sweden in midweek, Aberdeen certainly showed some extended issues on the road last season. Including a 5-0 drumming at the hands of Scottish icons Celtic on May 27th, Thursday’s guests lost each of their final three Premiership away matchups by an aggregate score of 8-1. Likewise, slumping to a 2-0 second-leg loss when they travelled to Hacken while on Conference League duties back in July 2021, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
Bet: Hacken 19/20 to beat Aberdeen in Thursday s Europa League qualifying showdown @
