Sinclair set for West Brom switch

West Bromwich Albion are close to securing a deal for out-of-favour Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair, .

Southampton have registered a late interest in the player, who has also been linked with Everton and Newcastle United, though he looks almost to certain to move to the Baggies on an initial season-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

Sinclair began his career at Bristol Rovers before moving to Chelsea in 2006, though he spent most of his four years at Stamford Bridge out on loan with no less than six clubs.

A move to Swansea City came in 2010, and he helped the side to secure promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in his first season with the club.

He has represented England at every level from under 17’s to under 21’s, …

Rubin Kazan are set to make a move on PSV Eindhoven striker Tim Matavz, .

The Russian giants have until 27th February to try and find a new centre forward having just sold Jose Salomon Rondon to league rivals Zenit.

Algemeen Dagblad reports that Rubin have made Slovenian striker Tim Matavz their number one target and already notified the player s employers of their interest.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the club and it appears PSV are ready to cash in on him after recruiting Bryan Ruiz on loan from Fulham.

Tim Matavz joined the Philips Stadium outfit from Groningen in the summer of 2011 and went on to score 24 goals in 64 Eredivisie outings for the Dutch giants.

Gotze facing fight for first-team football at Borussia Dortmund

Lucien Favre has made it clear Mario Gotze faces a fight for first-team football at Borussia Dortmund this season.

The Germany international was taken off after 64 minutes of the 2-1 DFB-Pokal win at Greuther Furth last month and then failed to get off the bench in his side s opening two Bundesliga games of the season.

Favre used a 4-3-3 system in those matches, a 0-0 draw at Hannover and a 4-1 win over RB Leipzig, with Mahmoud Dahoud, Axel Witsel and Thomas Delaney preferred in midfield.

And the Dortmund head coach admits it is difficult to fit Gotze into his side given his other options for the central roles.

I think it depends on our system, he told a news conference. I said that it would take time for us to find our best team and our best system. The…

Tottenham 6 Millwall 0: Hat-trick hero Son sends Spurs to Wembley, but fears for injured Kane

Son Heung-min scored a hat-trick as Tottenham coasted into the FA Cup semi-finals thanks to a 6-0 thrashing of London rivals Millwall but Mauricio Pochettino will have fears over Harry Kane, who limped off early in Sunday s contest.

England striker Kane was injured followed an innocuous looking challenge with Jake Cooper in just the eighth minute at White Hart Lane, but it did little to stem Spurs blistering attack against the League One side.

Christian Eriksen, Kane s replacement, put the home side ahead after 31 minutes and Son s superb curling effort made it 2-0 before half-time.

Son delighted the home fans with another fine effort, watching a long ball over his shoulder and volleying home, before Dele Alli made it 4-0 and White Hart Lane was treated to Vincen…

Football rumours: Manchester United lose patience with Anthony Martial

What the papers say

Manchester United are reportedly ready to part ways with forward Anthony Martial. According to The Sun, the club’s hierarchy are ready to consider offers for the 27-year-old Frenchman, who has scored just eight goals in 27 appearances this season.

The Daily Mail says Liverpool are the latest club to join the growing list of suitors for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are all believed to be interested in the 22-year-old England international, but his valuation of as much as £50million could prove a significant obstacle for any deal to get across the line.

Arsenal have set a £26m price tag on striker Folarin Balogun, according to the Daily Express. Citing Calciomercato, the paper says AC Milan have made …

Mazzarri: We´re on the right path

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri says the club s successful history will see them contend, as they aim for their first title since 2010.

Mazzarri s Inter sit in fifth after eight matches, nine points adrift of leaders Roma but the former Napoli boss said the San Siro outfit will be peaking post-Christmas.

It doesn t matter where we are now, what matters is how the team grows throughout the season and how we end it, Mazzarri said.

We must go beyond the results and look at how we ve played in recent games.

We re on the right path. Inter will be competitive again, I m sure of that.

The club s history and tradition dictate that.

We ve started the season much better than we were expected to, but we mustn t underestimate the defensive side of things.

We mu…

Schurrle doubts Rooney would make Germany team

Germany forward Andre Schurrle has praised Wayne Rooney but is unsure if the England man would make it into his national team.

Roy Hodgson s England face Germany on Tuesday for the first time since their chastening 4-1 defeat to Joachim Low s men in the second round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and Manchester United striker Rooney will be key to his country s hopes of recording a first win over their rivals at Wembley since 1975.

England s preparations for the match were dealt a blow on Friday with defeat to Chile, as Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez scored twice to secure a 2-0 win for the South Americans.

Rooney scored seven goals in six qualifying matches on the way to helping England secure their place at Brazil 2014, but Chelsea attacker Schurrle still believes the…

Conte expects Solanke to leave Chelsea

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte expects highly-rated striker Dominic Solanke to leave the club at the end of the season.

Solanke s contract expires in June and talks over a new deal have not reached a successful conclusion amid reports the 19-year-old, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool, has demanded a hefty wage increase.

The Premier League leaders will be entitled to compensation should Solanke move on, and Conte is not expecting the England Under-21 international to be at Stamford Bridge for the long-term.

He told a news conference ahead of Saturday s FA Cup tie at Wolves: I don’t know [about his future], I should have a crystal ball to tell you.

For now he is a Chelsea player, I don t know about his future. Is he leaving? I don t know, [but] I …

Jese: I´d have been Madrid regular without injury

Jese Rodriguez returns to Real Madrid with Las Palmas on Wednesday and feels he could have been a star at the Santiago Bernabeu but for his knee injury woes.

Jese was beginning to make a telling mark in Madrid s all-star squad when a cruciate ligament injury stopped him in his tracks in March 2014.

He largely remained a substitute after his return and this was a role the 24-year-old found himself stuck in once more after joining Paris Saint-Germain for this season.

A loan move to Las Palmas has provided the opportunity for another fresh start.

I remind everyone that I was on course to surpass Raul s record in the Real first-team, after I had surpassed Emilio Butragueno s goal tally for Castilla [Madrid s second team], Jese said reflecting on his formativ…
