Diogo Dalot joins Milan on loan after Man Utd struggles

Milan have signed Diogo Dalot on loan from Manchester United for the 2020-21 season.

Although reports previously suggested Milan would have the option to purchase Dalot at the end of the campaign, no such clause has been included in the deal.

Dalot, 21, joined United from Porto in 2018 to great expectations, with then-manager Jose Mourinho declaring him to be the best full-back in Europe in his age group.

Mourinho also suggested in December 2018 that in Dalot, United had a right-back for 10 years , but the Portuguese coach was sacked later that month and the player has failed to kick on under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Mauricio Pochettino accepts he is under pressure to succeed at Paris Saint-Germain and has warned the club s superstar players they must prove they deserve to wear the shirt.

The 48-year-old, out of work since leaving Tottenham in November 2019, was finally confirmed as Thomas Tuchel s successor at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

Former Spurs, Southampton and Espanyol boss Pochettino has signed a contract with the Ligue 1 champions until June 2022, including an option for a further year.

Holland hoping to feature for Australia

James Holland is looking to regain a regular spot for Australia after finding his feet for club side Austria Vienna.

The 23-year-old won a recall to the Socceroos squad for an international friendly with Lebanon in Beirut on Thursday and a crucial 2014 AFC World Cup qualifier with Jordan in Amman five days later.

An appearance for his country in either game would be his first in over two years, and would come as a just reward for a bright start to the Austrian Bundesliga season.

Employed somewhat more defensively than his customary attacking midfield role, the former Newcastle Jet has been crucial in seven league appearances as Austria Vienna have romped to the top of the table.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants clarity on time-wasting offences

Jurgen Klopp called for clarity on time-wasting offences after Trent Alexander-Arnold was booked for taking too long over a thrown-in during Liverpool’s draw with Chelsea on Sunday.

This season has seen the introduction of measures to try and keep the ball in play for a greater proportion of matches, with significant increases in added time seen over the Premier League’s opening weekend.

It is hoped that adding on time to reflect the length of pauses to the game will deter players from delaying the re-start of play.

See you next Saturday at Anfield

But Klopp believes the yellow card shown to the Alexander-Arnold in the 67th minute at Stamford Bridge whilst the score was 1-1 was unfair since the defender…

Myhill agrees new deal at West Brom

West Brom have announced that goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has agreed terms on a new two-year contract at the Hawthorns.

The former Wales international joined the club from Hull City in 2010, but has found regular first-team opportunities hard to come by.

He was afforded an extended run in the side towards the end of last season following Ben Foster s knee injury, and on Thursday the club confirmed the 32-year-old had put pen to paper on a fresh deal.

It s great to get my future sorted out, he said.  It s never easy being a goalkeeper when you re not in the team but the Premier League is the place you want to be in.

I enjoyed the final few months of the season and tried to do my best during that period.

Genoa rivals vying for Nagatomo

Bitter rivals Sampdoria and Genoa are locked in the battle for Inter Milan full-back Yuto Nagatomo, .

The Nerazzurri are prepared to cash in on their fringe player and they will probably consider offers in the region of €3.5 million.

And everything suggests that Nagatomo will be staying in Serie A, with Sampdoria and Genoa currently leading the chase for his signature.

Both teams are a bit short of options in wing positions and it is not that surprising they are showing interest in the Japan star seeing as he can successfully operate on either flank.

Yuto Nagatomo, 28, has spent last four years at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, having initially joined on loan from Cesena before Inter purchased his contract.

He has made a total of 121 Serie A outings f…

The La Liga giants are looking to strengthen their attacking options when the transfer window reopens, and have identified the former Sevilla man as one of a number of targets.

The winger has started all four of City’s games so far this season, though his first team opportunities are set to be more limited due to the arrival of Kevin de Bruyne from Wolfsburg.

Since moving to England in the summer of 2013, the twenty-nine year old has since racked up ninety-nine appearances for Manuel Pellegrini’s side in all competitions, scoring seven goals.

Internationally, he has been capped thirty-five times for Spain, scoring three goals and was part of their victorious World Cup 2010 and Euro …

Germany 0-1 Brazil: Samba stars edge out world champions in Brazil

Brazil edged out Germany 1-0 at the Olympiastadion on Tuesday evening in an international friendly.

Tite s men met the reigning world champions in Berlin for the first time since their 7-1 thumping at the hands of their opponents in the 2014 World Cup semi-finals. On the night, Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 37th minute as he found space only yards from goal to nod Brazil ahead and eventually claim the victory.

Germany meanwhile suffered their first loss since the 2016 European Championships.

Tight opening in Berlin

Brazil were gifted the best opportunity within the first 15 minutes as Coutinho capitalised on poor play in the German backline. The Barcelona man s low cross though was just cut out before it reached Gabriel Jesus.
